Our Sport and Clinical-based Massage Therapy Program gives you expertly-developed massage skills with a valuable medical focus

Massage Therapy Career Training in Just 9 Months*

At Indiana Massage College, you’ll be trained in sport and medical massage, so you can go after a career in a variety of healthcare and rehabilitation settings. Unlike generalist schools, IMC focuses on and excels at one thing – teaching massage therapy. Our instructors are massage experts and talented teachers in their own right. This means you’ll receive focused training from passionate professionals, setting you up to succeed in the massage therapy profession.

Broaden the scope of your career options! Our focused program will teach you clinical massage, not just Swedish massage. Learn how to treat musculoskeletal pain and disability, and increase joint mobility for patients leaving them with tangible results. With IMC, you’ll be equipped to go beyond relaxing patients and treat their mobility problems instead.

Many of our students come to us as career changers, or they wish to strengthen their current credentials by combining massage therapy with personal training, nursing, or other medical professions. Other students are former athletes who suffered sports injuries and have experienced the benefits of massage first-hand. Whatever your reason for attending, you’ll be training among mature, serious professionals.

Get the Skills to Start a Successful Massage Career

The DSMM Program at IMC consists of 750 hours of classroom, online and hands-on training. With this blended curriculum, you will receive the theoretical framework and practical skills needed to excel as a Massage Therapist, all while keeping things flexible for your other commitments in your life. In fact, you only have to come to the school 1.5 days per week.

During the course, you will learn:

  • Anatomy, Physiology, & Medical Terminology
  • Swedish Massage
  • Pregnancy Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Sports Massage
  • Lymph Node Drainage
  • Pre & Post-Operative Massage
  • And More!

Not only will you meet educational requirements to be a certified or licensed Massage Therapist, you will acquire business skills that will allow you to present yourself expertly to employers or, if you’d prefer, start your own practice and become your own boss. With our program, you could be working or beginning your own practice in as little as 9 months*!

Learn Hands-On in Our Student Clinic

A key element of your training at IMC will be practicing massage techniques in a real, clinical setting. In our student clinic, where you will be for part of each quarter, you will work with real clients while being supervised by our instructors. There, you will gain confidence and experience the rewarding feeling of helping others with your newly-developed skills. Not only will you be hands-on in your learning, so will your instructors.

What makes Indiana Massage College different from other schools is our instructor-to-student ratio: Each instructor looks after no more than 13 students – meaning you will know your instructors, and develop supporting relationships as you move through the program.

Blended Learning

The blended learning approach at Indiana Massage College enables students to learn the way that works best for them through 24/7 electronic access to lecture materials, assignments and videos while in the program, so that you can study thoroughly and as often as you need to. By having most of your instruction time done online, that gives you flexibility for your other commitments during the week.

During the program, you will also attend classes on campus one day per week, as well as perfect your massage skills during a weekly 5.5-hour shift at the Student Clinic.

Unlike other institutions that teach massage from a theoretical perspective, Indiana Massage College emphasizes a hands-on program that prepares you for success in your new career.
